The Château de Talmont, a thousand-year-old fortress that once belonged to the Dukes of Aquitaine, is opening its doors to you for a weekend full of discoveries. Immerse yourself in medieval history at the heart of this iconic Vendée monument!
Guided tours :
At 11am, 12.30pm, 2pm and 3.30pm, let a guide take you on a journey from the bottom of the courtyard to the top of the keep. Through anecdotes and stories, discover daily life in the Middle Ages behind these imposing ramparts.
Behurd demonstrations :
The Arma Ligéris company will be bringing the fortress to life with spectacular demonstrations of béhourd, a sport inspired by medieval combat, on Saturday and Sunday at 12 noon, 3pm and 4.30pm. Between sessions, the fighters will share their knowledge and you can even try out their equipment!
Themed events:
Once upon a time, there were knights (11.30am and 4pm): discover the little-known history of women knights.
A castle made to measure (2.30pm and 5pm): discover the secrets of medieval builders and try out the ancient tools used to draw arches and plans.
Photo exhibition :
The Talmondais Photo Club is inviting you to admire 60 photos that highlight the area's natural and architectural heritage.
