Created in December 1995, this regional nature park is home to numerous animal and plant species, including chamois, marmots and mouflons. Numerous sites bear witness to its cultural heritage, including crossroads, tavalan drying sheds, barns and bread ovens. The historic and cultural heart of the Massif de Bauges comprises 14 villages. A massif with a thousand landscapes, the Chartreuse Nature Reserve is home to typical mountain villages, emerald-coloured lakes and lush green plains with views of the summits. In fact, when you visit the massif, you'll be on the lookout for exceptional natural sites. A popular destination for hikers, the park has been classified as a Regional Nature Park since 1995, and is home to more than 2,000 plant species - a third of the total in France. You can also pick mushrooms, observe animals, go skiing if you visit in winter, and go hiking.

Created in 1970 and covering an area of 205,806 hectares, the Vercors Regional Nature Park is a veritable natural citadel with marvellous panoramic views. Sculpted by erosion, it has produced spectacular landscapes: waterfalls, caves, needles and gorges. This exceptional environment is home to remarkable flora and fauna, which the park is committed to preserving. Recognised nationally and internationally, the Vercors Regional Nature Park monitors the flora and fauna, and an eco-climatic observatory allows you to discover and follow the evolution of these environments and species.

Created in 1973, the Parc National des Écrins offers over 700km of hiking trails throughout the reserve. You can also follow part of the route of the Grande Randonnée 54 [GR54] trail, which circles the Écrins massif and passes right through the heart of the park. Known as one of the wildest parks in France and also one of the most varied in terms of landscapes, the Mercantour National Park is located in the Alpes-Maritimes and Alpes-de-Hautes-Provence départements. Founded in 1997, the Verdon Regional Nature Park protects 180,000 hectares around the magnificent site of the Gorges du Verdon. The roads running alongside the caves offer marvellous scenery. But the park is also a place where you can meet the local people and sample the local produce. Discover the hilltop villages, Gallo-Roman ruins, churches and local heritage.

Stretching over 80km from west to east, the Luberon Regional Nature Park offers a wide variety of landscapes. It comprises three "mountains": the eastern Luberon, the Grand Luberon and the Petit Luberon. Created in 2007 in the Bouches-du-Rhône département, the Alpilles Regional Nature Park covers an area of 510km2. Created in 1970, the Camargue Regional Nature Park is a site of European importance for local and migratory birds. Famous for its pink flamingos, the Camargue is also the subject of protection measures for local flora and fauna.
