Work on a new service area for motor caravans is in full swing in the heart of the city. Dol-de-Bretagne. Situated close to the Dolibulle swimming pool, the cathedral, the historic town centre and its shops, this new motorhome park will have all the amenities you need: water and electricity connections, and tanks for grey and black water, plus the charm of the site. The site has been carefully designed and will feature sixteen pitches separated by hedges, including two for very large units.

"We've designed this space so that motorhome owners can spend several days in ideal conditions. It's a very successful form of tourism, and we want to develop it as much as possible.explains Xavier Coadic, deputy in charge of tourism. This elected official also points out that the creation of this service area was included in the election programme of the current team.

Changes
place Jean-Hamelin

During the tourist season, but also for most of the year, motorhomes used to park on the Place Jean-Hamelin, which had been set up for this purpose, but the setting was obviously less pleasant than the new service area will be. As a result of this change, all the facilities for motorhome users will be removed from the Place Jean-Hamelin. " This will save parking spaces for tourists passing through".confirms Xavier Coadic.

A whitewash

This new enclosed and fully secure area will be managed by Aire Services, a Breton company with a strong presence in France. Pitches can be rented for €11 per night.

The cost of the work is estimated at €140,000, but the contract between the town of Dol and Aire Services is clear: 74 % of the rents collected will be paid back to the town of Dol. It's a no-cost operation for the town, which will see its investment repaid over time. " The first motor caravanners are expected to move in by spring 2022".according to the deputy tourism delegate.
